terms of use
these terms apply to the cooked app, yallcooked.com, and the cooked plugin for chatgpt and codex. cooked is provided by vakil ventures. using cooked means using it under these terms.
read the record. check the date.
cooked helps you understand public inspection records. a rating describes the available evidence, not a promise about what is happening at a restaurant today.
free public records, with their source and limits visible.
what cooked provides
cooked lets you find restaurants and read or compare available public health-inspection records in ten existing US and UK regions. it is free and does not require an account. the chatgpt and codex plugin provides read-only lookup and comparison tools; it cannot book tables, process payments, save personal lists, or change official records.
dates, sources, and limitations
inspection authorities decide what they publish and when. records can be delayed, incomplete, corrected, or unavailable. confirm the restaurant’s full address, read the inspection and rating dates, and use the official source links when checking a record.
a standing grade can coexist with a newer inspection awaiting a grade. some ratings are derived from published inspection results rather than issued by the authority; cooked identifies that distinction. missing findings do not mean that an inspection found no violations. different authorities use different rating systems.
an inspection record or grade does not guarantee a restaurant’s current condition or that eating there will be safe. cooked is independent of the inspection authorities and is not endorsed by or representing them.
using the service
use cooked without disrupting the service, evading access limits, or attempting to access private systems. do not misrepresent cooked’s summaries as an inspection authority’s own statement. when quoting records, keep the source, dates, and relevant context. public records remain subject to the applicable authority’s own reuse terms.
chatgpt and codex can explain the records returned by cooked. their generated explanation can contain mistakes; check it against the returned record and official source. those platforms have their own terms and privacy settings.
privacy
the privacy policy explains the app, website, and plugin’s data practices, including aggregate plugin statistics and website consent choices.
availability and changes
coverage and features may change, and requests may fail while cooked or a source is unavailable. these terms may be updated; the effective date on this page identifies the current version.
questions or corrections
contact hello@yallcooked.com or visit support. include the restaurant’s address and the record date when reporting a mismatch. corrections to official records belong with the issuing authority; cooked can investigate how a record is displayed.
