Checks marked passed

  • Insects Rodents Animals
Inspector note: Visual evidence of a rodent infestation was observed within the building areas accessed by the Health Division. At present it is the Health Division's understanding that the college presently contracts Braman for bi-weekly pest control treatments. The frequency must be increased until the infestation is mitigated. Copies of the pest treatments should be readily accessible to the kitchen management staff.
code 35-6-501.111/.115** · serious findingstatus: Pass
  • Adequate Number Frequency Vermin Proof
Inspector note: Several bags of refuse food containers and garbage were observed within the custodial room outside of the kitchen. Mouse droppings were observed throughout the custodial trash room. Receptacles must be provided for proper trash storage. The floor of the trash room must be maintained clean.
    code 33-5-501.13-.17* · lower-severity findingstatus: Pass
  • premises not properly maintained or cleaned
Official wording: Improper Maintenance of Walls/Ceilings
Inspector note: There is a gap between rear left door beside the reach-in units and the floor. The door should be equipped with a full door frame or a guard to prevent rodent access from the exterior. The gaps between the flooring and baseboard in the following areas have to be sealed; to the right of the left rear door in the right rear corner of the dish room and to the right of the Pepsi dispenser within the dining/self service area. Mouse dropping were observed beside each gap suggesting that these are points of access within the kitchen. There is a gap between the walk-in door and the the door frame. This gap should be sealed to prevent rodent access to the interior of the walk-in refrigerator. No foods were observed on the floor of the walk-in. The foods stored within the walk-in do not appear to have been contaminated by the mice. Droppings were observed along the interior wall of the walk-in. Any additional gaps observed / identified by Braman the exterminator should be properly filled to further restrict rodent access to the kitchen/dining level of the building.
    code 37-6-501.11-.12* · lower-severity findingstatus: Pass
  • Public Nuisance
Inspector note: The Health Division observed a student returning food service utensils (plate fork) to the cafeteria. The college should develop and implement policies restricting the storage consumption and disposal of food within the dorm rooms until the infestation can be mitigated.
    code 46-CH-111* · lower-severity findingstatus: Pass
