Handling of Food & IceInspector note: A frozen fish product was observed in a bin within a freezer unit. The fish was not packaged and patrons were observed handling the frozen product with their bare hands. Utensils or deli paper should be provided to eliminate the bare hand contact.

Food Utensil StorageInspector note: Utensils should be provided for each product within the fish area and the frozen foods area. Each frozen product in the bulk bin should have a scoop. Scoops should be provided for the each of the fish products at the end of the fish case.

Non-Food Contact Surfaces CleanInspector note: Clean the shelving to remove all spills and food soil. Shelving within the frozen fish freezer units the refrigeration units containing tofu and soy products and the refrigeration units containing eggs were soiled. These and all of the other units should be cleaned as needed and at least on a weekly basis. Clean the interior of the tanks containing eels and the tanks containing fish beneath the eels. Brown and green algae was observed in each.

Improper Maintenance of FloorsInspector note: Water is ponding on the floor tile outside of the refrigerated walk-in containing fish. The water should be removed and pushed to the floor drain throughout the day. Clean the market floors on a routine basis. Spilled beans candies vegetables and sprouts were observed on the floor. Clean the floors around all of the market's floor drains. Mold algae and trash were observed around and within the drains.
